One month old... and other updates

I'm actually about a week late for the one month mark, but I've been a little busy...

Matthew has turned into quite the little piggy. He's now weighing in at TEN pounds, and he's 21 inches long. That's a three pound weight gain in just one month! He definitely loves to eat! The pediatrician had said that once he gained a couple of pounds he may not be quite so mobile... so much for that idea! He still all over the place. Just Saturday morning he made the roll from his tummy to his back. I think someone forgot to tell him that he's just a little baby. He thinks he's half grown. :)

He's still doing very well at night. Most nights he only gets up once to eat, and although not consecutively, he has had 3 nights that he slept straight through till morning.

Matthew is a home body. He does ok when we go off, but after several hours he gets really fidgety and unsettled. When we get home he instantly calms down, and usually sleeps for a few hours.

On other fronts, we've just been crazy busy. Between doctor's and dentist's appointments, school field trips, and other meetings I don't know whether I'm coming or going. Not to mention weekend life! We went to Dennis Anderson's mud bog on the 17th. It was fun, but took WAY too long. The boys and I came home around 4:30pm. Kenny didn't even get to run until after 9pm! I sure hope they get a little better organized so they can speed things along. This past Sunday we went to the one in Morgan's Corner. That one is more of a backyard redneck throw down.

We're having Brendon's birthday party this Friday. It's a couple of weeks early, but a couple of his best friends won't be around for his actual b-day. This way we're also kind of combining his b-day and celebrating the end of the school year. Isaac is inviting a few of his friends as well. I guess we're gonna make a weekend of it. The party is Friday, but Saturday night we're taking them and their two best friend to the bull riding in Currituck. Then their friends are spending the night. It all should be fun!

real vs. tv

While at dinner with my parents last night, Brendon and Isaac were drawing tornadoes on their place mats. My mom asked them how they know what tornadoes look like.

Isaac says, "Oh, we've seen PLENTY of tornadoes!"

"Not in real life though", I remind him.

"UH HUH! They WERE real... ON THE WEATHER CHANNEL!!!" =p =p =p

I'd really hoped to post on here more often. I guess once a week isn't bad, but I know I thought about things last week that I wanted to put on here.... do you think I remember them now?

Let's see...what DO I remember? Well, things are going great. Brendon and Isaac are really enjoying Matthew. They took him to school for "show and tell" last week. =P Although, it was much more "show", than "tell".

Brendon has relaxed a little and doesn't get as mad with me when I don't run to Matthew at every little whimper. He does still want to hold him all the time though. I love to watch him. Brendon is just so comfortable with Matthew. You'd think he's been around little babies forever. He has no fear of him what so ever. Isaac likes to hold him too, but has been a little more reserved. He's loosening up now.

Matthew is all over the place. Gosh, when Brendon and Isaac were babies, I could leave them laying on a bed or couch for a couple of months with no concern of them scooting or rolling off... This is SO NOT the case with Matthew. He started rolling from his back to his stomach at just 6 days old. Of course, he doesn't know he's doing it, but he does it all the same. A few days ago he started scooting around when he's on his tummy. Night before last he turned completely around to the foot of his crib. I'm telling you, I can't leave that boy for anything! We kept saying he would hit the ground running, but geeze!

Matthew's umbilical cord fell of Sunday. It totally grossed Isaac out. hahaha I'm just glad that I can finally put his little butt in a tub of water!

Brendon's getting really pumped about his birthday already. He's going to be 9 next month. Holy cow! When did that happen? My baby is turning NINE?!?!? Of course, if you ask him it's not just 9, it's "half way to 18"! lol He hasn't said what he wants to do for his party yet, other than he wants to have watermelon and shrimp. What a combination! He's got such a wonderful little group of friends at school this year, I'm sure it will be a great birthday!

Welp, sounds like Matthew's getting hungry again. (I hear the grunting) I'll catch up with everyone later!
